Programme Leader in Maths - full time
Salary: £21,284-£34,413 plus excellent benefits

Due to progression of a member of the team, an opportunity has arisen to join the Faculty of Maths and Science. The faculty was awarded grade 1 in the Ofsted inspection in 2014 and is internally assessed as grade 1. We deliver a range of maths and science courses at levels two and three and boast excellent success rates. Within maths we offer AS and A level maths and further maths, I.B., GCSE maths and Functional Skills as well as specialist maths input into Access to HE and BTEC Extended Diploma in Applied Science. The successful applicant may also be a personal tutor to a group of students although this is not part of the current teaching schedule for this post. The Foundation Maths team is experienced, supportive and has a strong commitment to sharing ideas and resources. You will be mentored and supported by the Leader for Cross College Maths as well as the Assistant Leader and a faculty-based Improvement Practitioner. The faculty is based in new purpose-built facilities in the Maths and Science Centre, although we generally deliver Foundation Maths to groups of students based in the faculty of their main curriculum subject.

This post primarily involves teaching Foundation Maths, mostly GCSE but an ability to teach at level 3 (A level, IB or Core Maths) within maths could be advantageous. We would consider appointing, say, two 0.5 part time teachers; we will be seeking to appoint those with the greatest ability, enthusiasm and commitment to excellence in the classroom. We also have scope to offer an Associate Lecturer contract to those wanting more limited PT or flexible work. If you fit the bill and teach maths, your application will be welcome! Please specify if you are looking for PT or FT work in your supporting statement.

Successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced disclosure by the DBS.

We do not accept CV’s, no agencies please.

Exeter College is committed to promoting equality of opportunity and access for all, irrespective of age, background, race, gender, religion, ability, disability or sexuality. We welcome applications for employment from the whole community.

To apply for this post please visit our website at www.exe-coll.ac.uk.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is midnight end of 12th June 2016. Start date ideally for beginning of next term but to be negotiated if you have contractual obligations.
