The successful applicant should have experience of tutoring learners and supporting them to make progress during their time at college.

Candidates need to have experience of teaching a variety of different performances styles, with a focus on a range of practitioners and theatre companies. It is essential that candidates have the skills to be able to deliver practical sessions, aimed at improving students general performance skills as well as preparing them adequately for the practical assessment units of the EDUQAS Drama and Theatre specification. Additionally, candidates will need to be prepared to teach theoretical content in a classroom setting, as the written component of the course is a significant contributor to the overall A Level qualification. Working with a creative performing arts team, you will have a strong ability to develop productive relationships with your colleagues and learners, as well as freelance practitioners and be able to innovate and motivate across the various levels. Candidates need to be able to demonstrate a proven record of successful learner progression into Higher Education and industry.

The Performing Arts Team are based in the Centre for the Creative Industries in the centre of Exeter opposite Exeter Central Station. The Faculty boasts industry standard facilities including a TV Studio and Radio station and we have recently upgraded our theatre space. In addition to on-site facilities, we support our learners to perform in external spaces- including our Festival of Carols at Exeter Cathedral - to support their line of sight into industry and work alongside industry practitioners to extend the student experience. We are keen to support our team members with continuous professional development opportunities and successful applicants will have access to the wide range of benefits available to Exeter College staff.

Candidates will be able to demonstrate recent experience of teaching at this level as well as having industry experience and holding a relevant degree and teaching qualification. We are looking for well-motivated, enthusiastic and inspirational lecturers to join our thriving team, with the ability to help learners fulfil their full potential in performing arts.
