The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) Work and Skills Team would like to recruit a full-time Project Manager on an initial 12 month fixed-term basis to deliver an ambitious project plan to support Greater Manchester in preparing for the implementation of the Sainsbury Review and subsequent Post-16 Skills Plan and align this to the Greater Manchester Strategy.
This post is funded by the Gatsby Foundation to support the delivery of a Local Area Programme to help GM’s Colleges prepare for the implementation of T levels.
The Greater Manchester Combined Authority and the Gatsby Foundation will work together with GM’s colleges to prepare for the introduction of four technical education routes:
- Digital,
- Engineering & Manufacturing,
- Construction and;
- Health & Science
The Local Area Programme will develop a model for ‘routes readiness’ that can be implemented across each of the routes. The Project Manager will ensure successful project plans for five identified strands of work: Analysis, Provider Readiness, Careers Education Information Advice and Guidance, Employer Engagement, Advocacy and Dissemination.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of successful project management delivery
- Significant knowledge and experience of the post-16 sector including the post-16 reforms to qualifications
- The ability to work with a range of senior stakeholders and build strong relationships quickly; e.g. College Principals, Curriculum Leaders, Employers, GMCA leads
- The ability to work with pace and tenacity in a complex environment
- Experience of leading change
