Progress Coach (Student Support Services)

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, to work in close liaison with the Head of School and teaching staff, to be responsible for supporting the progress, performance and well-being of a caseload of students, taking all measures necessary to support students to meet or exceed their target outcomes, in line with their programme of study. 

A whole College adoption of the Progress Coach role was implemented in AY2016/17 across all curriculum areas that have study programmes. The role was evaluated as successful on the basis of student and teacher feedback and the examination of attendance and retention records.   

The College is looking to appoint an additional 1 FTE “Progress Coach” post within the School of Land Based Studies and Engineering

To run one-to-one and group tutorials in line with College requirements and complete all associated records and administrative tasks appertaining to the progress of students. To identify where further support is required and refer students to Student Support Services or make appropriate referrals.

This post is temporary to cover Maternity Leave for a fixed term.

Required to work across all College sites, in line with the needs of the students.  Some unsocial hours may be required to include occasional evenings and weekends as required, e.g. to assist at parents’ evenings and College open day events.  

Fractional posts will be considered.  

A full Enhanced Disclosure check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) will be required.
