We are now looking for a Progress Co-ordinator to join us at Carshalton College and Merton College. 


As Progress Coordinator, you will develop and manage the delivery of a high quality, cost effective support service to learners with physical disabilities, medical conditions, sensory impairments, mental health issues, learning difficulties and other inclusive needs to meet the College’s strategic and objective aims.


You will act as the nominated person for referrals from professionals working with the young person and assess the individuals needs, including risk assessments, and act as a lead for an agreed caseload of learners including assessing support needs, requesting high needs support funding, coordinating support packages that meet EHCP outcomes and chairing EHCP annual reviews.


We’re looking for an individual who has a successful and proven track record in managing a support provision in a post 16 educational setting for learners with mental health issues, physical disabilities, medical conditions, sensory impairments, learning difficulties and other support needs to enhance achievement rates. Able to communicate effectively at a variety of levels, you will have good working knowledge of how to support learners in an educational context and have good working knowledge of the SEND reforms, equality & safeguarding legislation and the implications for the Learning Support Service.


Experience of coordinating and supervising a team is also essential, as is a proven track record of delivering staff development training. A Level 3 qualification (or above) in Social Work or Advice & Guidance is desirable, however, this is not essential.

Carshalton College is a co-educational further education college based in Sutton. It is a non-denominational school.

The college has been an education provider for over 60 years. It is a major provider of full-time, part-time, apprenticeships, access, undergraduate and supported learning courses.
