Richard Huish College is excited to announce the opportunity to become one of our Progress Tutors, who contribute to our highly successful student pastoral provision.

The successful candidates will form part of the bespoke tutorial programme, which emphasises the importance of a broad education, ambitious student progression and positive health and wellbeing.

The main focus of each Progress Tutors role with be the delivery of the tutorial programme to a number of tutor groups. The management of these tutor groups will be the responsibility of the Progress Tutors and will include supporting and guiding individual tutees. It will also involve the supervision of some study time for each tutor group every week. Other key duties will include liaising with the Careers and Progression team, academic staff and other support staff in order to ensure that our students achieve their very best.  

We see this as a new and exciting time in the College’s provision and look forward to welcoming equally enthusiastic and dynamic candidates. 

• Hours: 37hrs per week, term time only plus 2 weeks 

• Salary:  £19,927 - £22,034 FTE Point 7-10 on the Support Staff Scale (actual salary £17,732-£19,607) 

• Start date: 23rd August 2021

• Closing date: Noon on Wednesday 23rd June 2021

Richard Huish College is a Sixth Form College situated in Taunton, the County town of Somerset. Huish prides itself on its academic excellence and strong reputation across Somerset and the Southwest, it is more than a Sixth Form College, it is a place where students can expand their horizons and develop their futures. Huish is also one of the best Sixth Form Colleges in the country, with strong outcomes and a long history of ‘adding value’ to students.

Huish has over 2,500 students studying A Levels, Level 2 and 3 vocational courses, Apprenticeships and professional qualifications (up to Level 7). Huish is proud to have established and be part of the Richard Huish Education Group, working collaboratively with a local 11-16 academy and five primary schools.
