Derby College has secured an Edge Foundation Grant to trial Problem-Based Learning (PBL) practice to support successful transitions to employment and higher-level learning, aiming to develop learning by doing across Level 3-6.  The project will develop curriculum design with PBL at its core in an entire level 3, 4 and 5 curricula.  It will focus on working with employers to co-design, co-deliver and co-assess the curriculum to ensure that students meet a high threshold to be ready for work.  It will establish ways of scaffolding PBL in different technical routes between levels, explore the links between PBL and Real-World Learning to challenge the assumptions made about traditional curriculum models, establish how PBL can look different in different contexts depending on the needs of the students, the employers, the subject, and the organisation and consider the relationship between innovative approaches and quality and regulatory frameworks operating in the sector.

We are seeking a Project Co-ordinator who is passionate about improving the quality of teaching and learning, and the impact this has on developing a future professional technical workforce.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following specific attributes:

Knowledge of T level development and ethos, and higher -level technical learning.

Previous demonstrable experience, at supervisory level, of successful programme co-ordination and a thorough understanding of high level relationship management techniques.

Proven ability to form effective working relationships within a range of strategic and delivery stakeholders and colleagues.

Possess a genuine commitment to the personal and occupational success of technical/vocational students.

Willingness and ability to travel across Derby and Derbyshire as required.
