There are exciting times ahead at Downside as we work towards building our organisational structure with the setting up of a new independently governed company limited by guarantee to be called Downside School.  

As Project Finance Assistant you will be responsible for supporting the Bursary Department during our change management programme in assisting with the setting up of new accounting and payroll systems for the Trust. Duties will include assisting with preparing monthly management reports, undertaking stock takes, liaising with suppliers and providing assistance with year-end accounts and audits. 

You will be a part qualified accountant or studying ACA/ACCA/CIMA or able to demonstrate significant experience in a similar role. We require a flexible approach, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and someone who has a proactive approach to problem solving. Additionally, you will need to demonstrate a strong level of competency in the use of IT such as Excel, MS Outlook and accounting software such as Sage. 

Working closely with the Finance Manager and the wider Bursary team, this post is offered on an interim basis up to December 2019 in order to support us in the delivery of our change management programme. Downside School is situated at the foot of the Mendip Hills, twelve miles south of the city of Bath. 


Contractual Details

Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum, dependent on qualifications and 

experience. 

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm with a one hour lunch break. Part time hours will be considered. 

Contract: Fixed term contract for five months

work scheme. 33 days holiday per annum which includes the 8 days
