We are seeking to appoint a passionate and well-qualified teacher of PHSE who also has the ability to teach social sciences, with the possibility of some A Level teaching. All students in key stage 3 and 4 take PHSCE. Careers Education is an important part of the curriculum at KS3 and KS4. The PHSE department was judged ‘good with many outstanding features’ in its last external review and is now focused on securing ‘outstanding’. The post would be suitable for an NQT or experienced teacher.
The PHSCE department is an outward facing department which offers many enrichment opportunities. For example, all pupils in Year 10 participate in the First Give philanthropy competition; local MP’s, members of the House of Lords regularly visit the school to discuss current political issues with the pupils; and other local stakeholders, both commercial and governmental, are involved in shaping, and assisting in delivering, the PHSCE curriculum. Year 10 pupils receive mock interviews from employers and careers days are organised for year 11’s. The department is heavily involved in Initial Teacher Education – supporting all routes including School Direct.
Lampton School is a mixed, multi-ethnic 11-18 school that converted to Academy status in September 2010. We are a National Teaching School and a SCITT. Lampton School was judged as "outstanding" in all categories by Ofsted in May 2008 and again in May 2013. It was also featured in the Ofsted report 'Twelve outstanding secondary schools - Excelling against the odds'. The school is a lead member of Challenge Partners – a national collaborative network of over 300 schools committed to improving the quality of education across our network.
