Job overview

Collingham Independent GCSE and Sixth-form College is seeking an impressive teacher of Psychology on either a full or part-time basis with highly flexible hours between 9.30am and 6pm. The right candidate would also be invited to become Head of Social Sciences (a small but important department within the College).

You will:

  • be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of the A level Psychology Specification (AQA B);
  • have a dynamic classroom presence and outstanding classroom management skills;
  • maintain high expectations of students;
  • keep excellent records and be able to carefully monitor student progress;
  • be a team-player who has the potential to motivate and manage others;
  • be fully conversant with, actively support and implement the College’s policy on safeguarding, child protection, pastoral care, behaviour and discipline.

The College also offers the opportunity for you to become a Personal Tutor, overseeing the well-being and academic progress of a small group of A level students. In our recent ISI inspection, the College was graded as Excellent in its delivery of Pastoral Care.
