The European International School Ho Chi Minh City (EIS) is seeking to appoint a dynamic and versatile educator who will join the faculty team of the school in August 2021.

Overview

The European International School Ho Chi Minh City (EIS) was founded in 2009 and is a member of Inspired organization. The school is an independent, co-educational and multicultural international school. The school is authorized by the International Baccalaureate and is accredited (2018) by the Council of International Schools (CIS). The campus is located in a suburban district of the city and is considered a boutique “educational village” comprised of 13 renovated villas in a tropical garden setting, enhanced with purpose build facilities.

The current enrolment of the school is 570 students, approximately 200 of whom are in the Middle and High Schools. There are 46 nationalities represented, the largest representations being from Korea, Vietnam, Germany, UK and Australia. Over 60% of the student body are English as a Second Language students.

TEACHERS

CHARACTERISTICS

Successful candidates need to be able to demonstrate a growth mind-set and an understanding of the challenges inherent in being a small but growing school. As an IB school, experience of teaching in an IB school is an advantage, through the school will always consider well qualified and self-motivated teachers from other teaching backgrounds. A willingness to engage fully in the school's community, enrichment activities, excursions and other events is a must.

  • Desire to teach international curricula, in particular the IB PYP, MYP, DP programmes.
  • Desire to work on whole school programmes and initiatives
  • Experience in pastoral care and enthusiasm to be a homeroom teacher
  • Willingness and ability to offer creative, active or service related extra-curricular activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

EIS seeks to appoint a Teacher of IBDP Psychology and expect to teach another subject.

REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will have a degree qualification in Psychology or related field. Additionally, a current teaching certificate, PGCE or equivalent and at least three years teaching experience is required for work visa purposes.
