Pupil Premium/Link Tutor

As part of our continued commitment to raising the attainment of our vulnerable learners, King Alfred’s Academy is looking for an engaging, enthusiastic and driven Link Tutor to support our Pupil Premium eligible and vulnerable learners, both inside and outside of the classroom.

The post is 35 hours per week during term time + 5 days. The salary is G7.13 (full time equivalent £22,021) pro rata to reflect hours and the term time nature of the post (£18,042.57).

Supported by the head of Pupil Premium and alternative provision and senior members of the Inclusion team, the successful candidate will be able to plan and deliver learning sessions to groups of students as well as taking an active role in the pastoral welfare of identified vulnerable students.

The successful candidate will possess:

Drive, enthusiasm and determination.

The commitment to raise the attainment outcomes of Pupil Premium and vulnerable learners.

The highest of expectations for all Pupil Premium eligible and vulnerable learners.

An ability to deliver small group sessions to Pupil Premium eligible and vulnerable learners.

About King Alfred's Academy

King Alfred’s Academy is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Wantage, Oxfordshire. It is an academy converter supported by Vale Academy Trust, a South Oxfordshire multi-academy trust that supports eight other schools in the area.

A larger than average secondary school, King Alfred’s provides 2,205 places for students between the ages of 11 and 18 when fully subscribed. Current number on roll is 1700. The school converted to academy status in August 2011.
