Contract: This post will be offered on a temporary, part time, term time only basis, initially until 20th July 2018 

Pay Scale: Grade 3, Spinal Column Point 14-18 

Salary: £16,781- £18,070 pro rata per annum (pro rata salary: £5,730 - £6,170.47 per annum) 

Hours:   14 hours per week 8:30 - 15:30 two days a week (actual days to be agreed)  

No on roll: 870 (including VI Form) 

Ofsted rating: Good (September 2014) 

Diocesan Inspection: Outstanding (March 2016)

Christ the King Catholic Voluntary Academy is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative person to work alongside our hardworking and dedicated team. The mentor role will involve working with students on a 1-1 basis, liaising with colleagues in all departments across the school and working closely with the Assistant Principal in order to offer targeted intervention to support students’ progress.  The role may involve working within classes to offer support to a student alongside the class teacher.

Applicants must have a minimum of five GCSEs or equivalent which ideally includes English and Maths. Applicants must ideally have prior experience of working with young people, but more importantly have strong communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to engage and support students both in a pastoral and academic capacity.
