Job overview

Can you make a difference to a child’s education?

Belmont School is an independent SEBD school for boys aged 7 to 18 and is part of the Acorn Care and Education Group which has nine similar schools across the country. Our Victorian school building has been completely refurbished to provide four modern classrooms, each with state of the art ICT provision, plus various specialist rooms and great outdoor play facilities.

About the role

Due to planned growth, we now have opportunities for three temporary Pupil Support Workers to join our successful team.

As a Pupil Support Worker, you will work with individuals and small groups of Children on educational activities, assisting Teachers with the delivery of educational and behavioural programmes. You will encourage the social and emotional development of children, using positive approaches that help them build relationships and self-esteem.

Our Pupil Support Workers play an important part in the development of pupils, offering support and stability in the classroom, on external educational visits and during recreational time. Ultimately you will contribute to the personal, academic, social and behavioural development of children, improving their ability to cope in everyday situations and manage the transition from school to college or work environments.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for positive role models who would like to make a difference to the lives of our pupils and their families. Care or Support experience would be an advantage but just as important are the right personal qualities and a real desire to encourage positive outcomes. We would like to hear from people who have caring and nurturing qualities coupled with good levels of positivity, resilience and tenacity, who would like to utilise these skills to support the children attending Belmont School.

This is a great opportunity to join a team that make a positive difference to children’s lives every day.
