PYP Coordinator

The British International School of Stavanger Gausel is a world International Baccalaureate School. We are currently recruiting for a talented and inspirational PYP Coordinator for a permanent position, starting from 01 August 2020.

You will be working as part of a highly motivated and collaborative team to offer a balanced curriculum that promotes the acquisition of key skills and behaviours through inquiry-based learning.  We work hard to create a very special learning experience for our students by employing inspirational teachers who respect every child and believe that whatever background or prior learning the child has, every child has the capacity to excel.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

A professional who: 

Has experience as a PYP Coordinator / Curriculum manager/curriculum developer/member of a Senior Leadership team with extensive experience of the PYP curriculum and its requirements  

Holds a valid teaching qualification from a recognised university and who has written and oral fluency in English 

Is comfortable with inquiry-based learning and concept-driven teaching  

Is familiar with these online platforms: Managebac, Seesaw, MyIB, IBIS 

Who leads and role models collaborative planning sessions across the department, as well as in-house professional development, including workshops, mentoring colleagues, lesson observations and guided goal setting for teachers and students 

Will continue to liaise with the IB office and is confident speaking at regional and international conferences to promote BISS  

Will continue to maintain our high academic and behavioural standards in PYP and is familiar with the recent PYP enhancements  

 An individual who: 

Is friendly, dynamic, open-minded and approachable by staff, students and parents 

Is willing to ‘go the extra mile’ to support teaching and learning at BISS 

Is comfortable using blended learning strategies which incorporates the new technology at school  

Will appreciate the culture of living in Norway
