Responsible to: Vice Principal in the day-to-day execution of professional duties and responsibilities and other duties as required.

This role is a non-teaching position.

  • Provide pedagogical leadership within the school under the guidance of the VP
  • Oversee collaborative curriculum planning both horizontally and vertically throughout the school
  • Support coordinators in managing their year group teams with planning, day to day organisation and similar tasks
  • Oversee and organise in-school and out-of-school professional development for PYP
  • Ensure that the International Baccalaureate (IB) publications remain current and disseminated to all staff
  • Maintain files of completed Unit of Inquiry and weekly planners
  • Publish the school's Programme of Inquiry
  • Develop curriculum in the school's scope and sequence document
  • Ensure assessment agreements, teaching and language learning are documented for PYP
  • Take responsibility for collating school's IB action and development plan in consultation with the Principal and Vice Principal
  • Ensure that parents are well informed regarding the general characteristics of the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and how it is implemented by the school via Newsletters and information sessions/workshops
  • Play an integral part in the Professional Development of staff especially in relation to the PYP
  • Maintain a log of staff workshop attendance and school visits and monitor this to maintain quality and strategic future planning in relation to PYP curriculum
  • Ensure all teaching staff have access to the My IB Portal and are versed in usage
  • Provide support for staff and students presenting the PYP Exhibition in its final year of the programme
  • Recommend suitable resource purchases to support the programme's implementation 
  • Maintain a resource inventory with the assistance of coordinators and support staff
  • Circulate all relevant information received from the IB
  • Prepare and submit authorisation and evaluation documentation
  • Liaise between the school and the IB
  • Attend local/regional PYP Coordinators' network meetings
  • Select and order core curriculum documents and materials – orders above $500 to be passed through VP/Principal
  • Assist Public Relations where necessary; conduct school tours when required, attend open days and interview parents when directly linked to PYP

As Assessment Coordinator

  • Develop systems to facilitate formative and summative assessments of pupils' progress
  • Support teachers in implementing assessment and record keeping procedures 
  • Oversee mid-year and end of semester reporting procedures
  • Ensure that qualitative information is relayed to parents

EtonHouse Broadrick is an IB PYP (International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme) World School. This World School Authorisation was granted to the campus in June, 2007.
