Job Description

Clearwater Bay School is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School serving the Sai Kung, Clearwater Bay and Tseung Kwan O communities in the Eastern New Territories of Hong Kong. Through the IB Primary Years Programme, we offer a world class international primary education to 720 students in years 1-6 that develops students’ creativity, confidence and willingness to achieve their personal best. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Clearwater Bay School (CWBS) for a skilled and enthusiastic PYP Coordinator to join our Leadership Team from January 2023 or sooner by negotiation.  

The Role

The PYP coordinator will have proven teaching ability and be able to act as a pedagogical leader of the programme in the school. A commitment to collaborative planning is central to the philosophy of the PYP, and the coordinator has a pivotal role in this process, taking responsibility for ensuring that pedagogical aspects are discussed, information is disseminated and the programme is planned, taught and assessed collaboratively. Together with other members of the school’s leadership team, the PYP coordinator is involved in the whole-school implementation and organisation of the programme. The PYP coordinator will collaborate with senior leaders, middle leaders and all members of the teaching team in whole-school planning, as well as professional learning.

Requirements   

  • Bachelor Degree in Education or Bachelor Degree with Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)  
  • Expertise in teaching across the primary range  
  • 5+ years teaching experience within a recognised educational organisation  
  • Prior experience of leading or holding a position of responsibility within a team  
  • High level interpersonal skills and/or coaching skills/experience  
  • Knowledge and experience of the IB Primary Years Programme highly regarded 

The successful candidate will be employed on a two years renewable contract, renewable by mutual constant. This is a non-class based role with a teaching and learning responsibility allowance (TLR2)
