Abraham Moss is a very interesting all-through school located in and alongside the Abraham Moss Centre. It attracts a committed and stimulating intake of pupils from a socially and culturally diverse area. There is a superb range of highly motivated teaching and associate staff, all committed to high levels of achievement and participation in learning. Development of language across the school is key.

A teacher of science is required to join the ambitious and progressive Science department at Abraham Moss Community School. This post would be suitable for an early career teacher or a more experienced practitioner.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be committed to inclusion and to ensuring that no child is left behind.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach across KS3 and KS4 across a range of abilities in a culturally diverse community.

About Abraham Moss Community School

Abraham Moss Community School is a mixed, mainstream, non-denominational all-through school in Crumpsall, Manchester and is a part of The Dean Trust. It caters to students aged between three and sixteen and has approximately 1,653 pupils enrolled.

Abraham Moss Community School was founded in 1973 and was named after Abraham Moss, who was Lord Mayor of Manchester from 1953 to 1954.

Vision and values

The school promotes and upholds British values including democracy, rule of law, individual liberty and respect and tolerance. Students are taught that everyone has the right to be heard, that all are bounded by the law of the country and that everyone has the right to their own views. Moreover, pupils learn that everyone has equal rights and deserves equal respect. Teachers strive to develop creativity, resilience, employability skills and positive engagement with the wider community.

Abraham Moss Community School prioritises literacy and numeracy skills. It also promotes the spiritual, moral, social and cultural aspects of education through PSHE and Citizenship, as well as RE. Arts and sports are provided to ensure a more rounded education for each child.
