The Radiography and Medical Imaging Department at Fatima College of Health Sciences http://www.fchs.ac.ae/En/Programs/Pages/Radiography-and-Medical-Imaging.aspx whose main campus is located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is currently inviting applications from experienced senior teaching academics in radiography and/or medical imaging.  By offering professional entry and higher education programs in radiography and medical imaging, the College is the major contributor to the healthcare workforce and its development in the UAE.

Established in 2006, Fatima College of Health Sciences (FCHS) aims to meet the United Arab Emirates' growing need for skilled healthcare professionals.  The College aligns with the country’s 2030 healthcare workforce vision and aims to be the major contributor to the sector.  FCHS is accredited by the Ministry of Education nationally and is internationally benchmarked through a number of Russell Group Universities in the United Kingdom.  Aside from Radiography and Medical Imaging, FCHS offers undergraduate degrees in Emergency Health (Paramedic Science), Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Nursing and Psychology.

Although the Bachelor of Radiography & Medical Imaging degree program is well established it is now entering an exciting period of growth as it is advancing plans to progress the development of a Master’s program with a range of discipline specialities.  FCHS recently reviewed and re-engineered its curriculum to bring it in line with a modern international program. 

An academic vacancy exists to teach into the Bachelor program.  Candidates must have a PhD / Doctorate in Radiography and/or Medical Imaging, with a minimum of 2 years teaching experience within a tertiary setting and ideally four years clinical experience within an area of

• Radiographic Anatomy

• Radiologic Pathology

• Nuclear Medicine

• Radiation Physics

• Computed Tomography

• Ultrasound

• Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

The role involves:

• Covering all teaching and learning activities (lectures, tutorials, workshops, labs, clinical sessions, etc.) as detailed in the curriculum

• Course coordination where required

• Designing and implementing assessment techniques appropriate to the course

• Scholarly research activity and publishing findings in peer reviewed journals as well as presenting at discipline related conferences

• Contributing to curriculum review and development as required

• Contributing to Departmental and Institutional committees as requested

• Participating in student clinical placement supervision as required

• Mentoring and advising students with career opportunities.

Currently FCHS has campuses based in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Ajman, Al Dhafra, and Rabat (Morocco).  The successful candidate will be offered a position at a campus (Abu Dhabi or Al Ain) as per operational need.  

Senior educators who also possess experience and competencies in simulation education and who would be able to contribute to the research culture of the Department will be highly regarded.
