Job overview
The Forest School Academy Trust welcomes applications for the role of Raising Achievement Manager to lead our new Raising Achievement Centre.
The Raising Achievement Centre focuses on ensuring our students make the best possible progress and we offer a range of interventions to ensure that they are supported in all aspects of their education. You will work closely with our SENCO to develop interventions that will have the most impact with our boys. You will manage a team of professionals who will be working with our students in the Raising Achievement Centre. We are keen to hear from professionals who really want to make a huge difference to our boy’s lives and who want to work across the school in leading this exciting project.
The Forest School Academy Trust is a secondary school catering for boys in years 7-11 and is co-educational in our sixth form, which is housed in a fabulous purpose built sixth form centre. The school has continued to invest in new technology with projects including a brand new school WIFI network, Show My Homework, GCSE Pod, EzyEducation and are just launching our Bring Your Own Device programme for students to support learning and reduce staff workload. In addition, we have invested in our sporting facilities; building a MUGA, upgraded our indoor swimming pool, invested in our gym and we are working with Reading Football Club to further develop our facilities to include an all-weather football dome.
Berkshire is a delightful and desirable place to live and work. Students attend from the towns of Wokingham, Reading and Bracknell, as well as from the outlying Berkshire villages. The school sits near to junction 10 of the M4 and close to Winnersh train station which has direct links to Reading and London via the Waterloo line.
A job description and our application form can be downloaded from the ‘About us’ section on our website http://www.forest.wokingham.sch.uk.

A Welcome from The Forest School Academy Trust
Established in 1957, The Forest is a “Good” (OFSTED July 2021) comprehensive school. Currently we are a single sex boy’s secondary school that will be offering co-educational study from September 2024 with a seven form entry in the main school and an existing co-educational sixth form making a total current roll of 793. Our Sixth Form has been co-educational since 2009.
The Forest School is situated in Wokingham, Berkshire.
As The Forest School's Headteacher, I work with staff, students and parents to foster and sustain positive outcomes for all. My ambition is to ensure The Forest School provides an exceptional inclusive education for every student. Students are encouraged to get involved with extra-curricular activities to extend their learning beyond the classroom and gain new hobbies and interests, ranging from sports clubs to choir practice. Our success is based on the strong sense of community as we celebrate 60 years as a community school, with high expectations and mutual respect for all. We develop the whole person and ensure that every student is fully equipped for life through our core values: Aspiring, Safe, Prepared, Independent, Respectful, Excellent.
These values are for all stakeholders as we recognise the importance of parents and the inclusive community in the education of the next generation. We have a strong academic, sport and creative success, and this is delivered through the high level of curriculum and pastoral support for every student.
