We are seeking a self-motivated person to take charge of the Sandhill View’s Raising Aspirations programme, partnered with Oxford University’s OxNet hub for the North East at Southmoor Academy. This unique role offers an exciting chance to inspire and support young people and work in an interdisciplinary capacity combining elements of widening participation, mentoring, coordination of academic programmes, event planning and networking.

We are seeking a graduate with a real belief in the benefit of higher education, who can use their experiences to help young people to make decisions about their future and secure places at university. This is a new initiative, and the right candidate will be able to see the role grow and develop across the region.

As Raising Aspirations Co-ordinator you will coordinate a structured programme of academic sessions delivered by lecturers from local Higher Education Institutes and arrange university visits, as part of the Raising Aspirations Programme. You will coordinate a similar programme of school based activities for KS3 students attending local schools. You will also be developing and delivering OxNet’s exciting new programmes for primary schools.

Hours to be worked flexibly, including evening and occasional weekend work, as necessary for the performance of the duties of the post.
