The Diocese of St Albans is the Church of England in Hertfordshire, Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire, Luton and part of the London Borough of Barnet.  There are over 336 parishes in the 1008 square miles, with 235 paid clergy, approx 80 self-supporting ministers, supported by 300 Readers (lay ministers).

Our 135 Church of England schools are part of the Anglican family in this area.  The central focus of the mission of the Diocesan Board of Education is to work alongside these schools to support them in their task of delivering high quality education inspired by the Christian faith and values.  Currently, eleven of these schools are academies.  There are 123 primary schools, seven middle deemed secondary and five secondary.

The Schools Team comprises four full-time members of staff and two part-time, with assistance in school support from a number of educational consultants.
