Job overview

The school are looking to appoint a reflective and professional classroom teacher to join their talented and enthusiastic Reception team for January 2023. The post will be teaching two days per week plus one afternoon of PPA times (0.5).

They are dedicated to providing a high-quality education for all the pupils who attend their school, regardless of their diverse starting points. They also believe in the importance of staff development and the successful candidate can be assured that they will receive the support that they need to help them excel. In addition, the school seek to provide all of our teachers with opportunities to lead whole school initiatives, develop their leadership potential and take ownership of their own professional development.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a highly reflective practitioner, with a commitment to their own continued professional development.
  • Engage and challenge all pupils, by providing them with relevant, resourceful and enriching learning opportunities across the curriculum.
  • Work flexibly as part of a team, challenge, encourage and motivate others and collaborate to help the school make progress towards its goals.
  • Engage with the school community, building strong working relationships with parents and working effectively with local governors, CET directors and other professionals.

The school is situated on the edge of the local recreation ground. The school converted to an academy in September 2013. There are currently 230 pupils in the school, approximately 31% of whom are eligible for free school meals. Over half of the children speak English as an additional language. The school is a vibrant community where excellence, diversity and creativity are routinely celebrated. Visits to the school are highly recommended.
