Skills, qualifications and experience: We are looking for a dedicated and creative Class Teacher who:

• Is educated to degree level with a teaching qualification

• Has proven experience as a classroom teacher in a mainstream primary school, ideally with Early Years’ experience

• Is able to plan and deliver lessons to meet the needs of all pupils and enable them to make good progress with clearly identified learning objectives and success criteria

• Is able to motivate and inspire pupils using a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies, to be the best they can be

• Has high expectations of pupils and are committed to raising standards

• Possesses excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with colleagues and be willing to develop their practice while being supported 

• Is articulate and can promote high standards of English, orally and in writing

• Wants to work in partnership with parents, governors and the wider community

Duties and responsibilities: The successful candidate must carry out the professional duties covered by the latest School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document and ensure that their professional duties are discharged effectively and meets the Teacher’s Standards for September 2012. In addition, other duties include:

• Making effective use of ICT to enhance learning and teaching

• Implementing agreed school policies and guidelines and ensure that equal opportunities are implemented in the classroom and throughout the school

• Supervising the work of support and volunteer staff
