Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is Level 3 or degree equivalent and experience working with ASD is essential. 

The role 

Smart Teachers are recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a three-form entry school in Hounslow. The suitable candidate will be working with three pupils diagnosed with mild ASD in Early Years. The ideal candidate will be responsible for including the pupils within classroom activities and helping them access the general curriculum. This will include differentiation of work and using the pupils interests and key skills to help encourage their attention and interests towards the class activities. The Reception SEN Teaching Assistant will act as an intervention TA, focussing only on the three pupils.   Overall, the pupils are well-behaved but can be triggered easily if there is a lack of support to help with their academic and social needs. The suitable Reception SEN Teaching Assistant will also need to be assertive in their manner, hence experience required with ASD is essential. This would be a fabulous opportunity for a Psychology graduate who wishes to pursue a career in Educational Psychology or an individual who wishes to pursue a career in Education.  NQTs who wish to increase their experience working with SEN pupils are also welcomed to apply.

Requirements 

To be considered for the Reception SEN Teaching Assistant , you must:

• Level 3 or degree equivalent qualification 

• Have recent experience supporting in early years

• Have experience with SEN, ideally ASD

• Have recent or past experience (within 5 years) working in Primary 

• Eligibility to work in the UK (must have a valid visa)
