Job overview

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic teacher to provide maternity cover for one of our two Reception (Early Years) classes in our successful and happy school for girls aged between 4 and 11 years.  With 15 girls in a class and supported by a Teaching Assistant, teachers are really able to challenge and support each girl according to her needs. The School has opted out of the EYFS curriculum, although this does provide a framework for our own curriculum.

Candidates should have at least 2 years teaching experience, have experience of EYFS teaching, and be supportive and sympathetic to the ethos of teaching in an independent school.

This post is initially offered for a minimum of two terms with a possibility of this being extended. 

The salary will be competitive, based on the candidate’s skills, experience and ability to contribute to the life of the school.

The Old Vicarage is an iconic Grade 2* Listed castle on Richmond Hill and is home to the only girls’ prep school in Richmond.
