Would you like to be part of a new school?

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and innovative individual with the desire to be part of a brand new school; to help shape, open and ensure the success of our highly oversubscribed new-build secondary school. The school opened in September 2016 with Year 7, growing to a roll of 1200 students, aged 11-16, by September 2020, with a final phase addition of a sixth form to follow.

Working within our new and highly motivated team, you will be the first point of contact for parents, students and all school visitors. With your passion for delivering great service, you will create a positive atmosphere and professional impression that reflects our core values and ethos.  The role is varied and fast paced and will involve not only working on our busy reception, but also dealing with a variety of administrative and IT activities. The ability to prioritise effectively is a must, as are strong interpersonal and written communication skills.

Previous experience of working in a reception/administrative role, involving the use of IT systems is advantageous, although previous experience of working in a school is not required: potential is as important as experience.

What makes this role so unique is that you will also have the opportunity to take part in other aspects of school life. This could include: supporting dance classes or scuba diving training, helping students get the most out of school trips or  learning to climb or being a house leader.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to  play an active part of the development and direction of the school as it grows, with rich opportunities for professional and career development both within the school and across the wider Academy Trust. Interest in the new school has been high and as a new and growing school, this represents a unique opportunity for someone who is looking to take full advantage of the opportunities available and develop themselves professionally.  You will need to demonstrate your ability to effectively manage a wide range of administration activities, as well as being able to work as part of a team, roll up your sleeves and inspire others to excel.

The South of England based Bohunt Educational Trust has evolved from Bohunt School in Hampshire, which is rated Outstanding in every category by Ofsted and the Times Educational Supplement School of the Year 2014.   BET's educational philosophy is encapsulated by three short verbs: Enjoy, Respect and Achieve.

Potential candidates are advised to apply as early as possible or make informal enquiries for more information to: Mrs Sharon Rolland, PA to Head of School/ Operations Manager by e-mailing on recruitment@bohuntwokingham.com

Bohunt School Wokingham is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young students and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will need to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

Bohunt School Wokingham opened its doors to Year 7 pupils in 2016. Having grown substantially since then, we are now heavily oversubscribed, with a school roll of 1200 students aged 11-16. With the exciting announcement of our expansion to include a sixth form and additional spaces in all year groups, we will soon see more students through to 18.

Our ethos of ‘enjoy, respect, achieve’ underpins our vision to give all students an outstanding education and develop skills in the classroom and beyond. These core values help our students flourish throughout their school career, and on into later life. Reflective of the success achieved in its first three years, Ofsted recognised that the “overall educational experience for many pupils at the school is ‘life-changing’.”

Our new site has been designed and built with education at the forefront and includes specialist teaching spaces and a whole school one to one iPad provision, as well a wide range of sports and extra-curricular provision. We are leaders in outdoor education with an outdoor classroom, the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and Big Expeditions to wilderness locations, alongside a variety of other trips at home and abroad.

We are part of the supportive and innovative Bohunt Education Trust, a MAT with eight schools including two Sixth Forms and a boarding facility. We may be separated geographically, however, all BET schools are student centred, sharing an uncompromising belief in high achievement and unconditional positive expectations, a real sense of community and a dynamic, innovative approach to education.

Candidates are welcome to visit the school to discuss any roles and gain a sense of our educational ethos and culture.
