Hours of work: 8am - 4:30pm Mon-Fri (40 hrs/week, 38 weeks/year)

Salary: NJC1 points 1 to 3 (FTE £21,223 - £21,782) will be prorate to weeks & hours worked above

This is a full time position (job share will be considered) and term time only plus one week.

 We are seeking a confident, enthusiastic, and motivated individual to join Hampton High as an Receptionist. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive, friendly and professional environment.

As part of the administration team, the receptionist post is an interesting, busy and varied role which involves a wide range of tasks and activities to assist in the efficient running of the reception. The post requires good office and ICT skills, excellent personal, communication and teamwork skills, a flexible approach and an interest in supporting the the school staff and families to meet the needs of the children and their parents with young people.

The successful candidate will be joining the school at an exciting time. Hampton High is a mixed comprehensive school, which was judged “good” by Ofsted in 2019. The school is now full throughout KS3 with a waiting list of families. We are committed to real inclusion and are proud of our newly opened Specialist Resource Provision for ASD students. We have recently joined Bourne Education Trust, which has a commitment to nurturing talented colleagues, and we offer a comprehensive programme of professional development for all staff. Job description 

Hampton High is looking for a School Receptionist/Administrator to start immediately.

About the Role

As Receptionist/Administrator, you will be responsible for providing a professional, responsive administrative support and a first class reception service to the school community.

The successful applicant will:

 Be responsible for providing a professional, productive and responsive administrative service to teaching staff and managers including the preparation of learning materials and school correspondence

 Provide an outstanding, seamless and professional customer focused face to face service as directed by the Administration and/or Business Manager

 Handle all incoming and outgoing telephone calls in a professional, open and helpful manner, in line with school procedures. Ensure that post is sent out and received promptly.

 Be proficient in the use of ICT applications and information management systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel and ARBOR.

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

 Excellent literacy and numeracy skills

 Excellent communication skills

 Be a team player, show initiative and work autonomously

 Previous school experience, and a sound knowledge of ARBOR software is desirable

 Someone with a current Enhanced DBS would be preferred
