Location:          Bramfield House School, Halesworth, Suffolk.

Salary:              Up to £14,500 per annum

Hours:              35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract:          Permanent, Term Time only

Are you super-efficient and have an eye for detail?

Due to the promotion of the current post holder, we are now looking for a dynamic and energetic Receptionist who cares deeply about making a difference to young people’s lives. You may already be a Receptionist or working in the admin field, or you may be someone who just wants to work somewhere that really cares about children with the passion and enthusiasm to learn.

We are looking for a really special person, committed and passionate and able to foster strong trusting relationships with parents and children alike, but ruthlessly efficient and committed.

Bramfield House School is an independent residential special educational needs school for boys aged 7 – 16 years who have social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours, located in rural Suffolk. The School has a committed and innovative multidisciplinary team, extensive site and excellent facilities to support both learning and extra-curricular activities; we are in a great position to provide our pupils with the best education and care possible.

We need highly-motivated and intelligent people to help make a difference.

About the Group:

We are part of Acorn Education and Care and can promise you plenty of challenges, and a rich variety of opportunities to develop your career.

We provide Education and Care across a number of schools and residential homes nationally. Our specialist SEN provision, coupled with our expertise within residential care means we offer thousands of vulnerable children and young people across the UK a holistic, wraparound care, residential and education service, empowering them with everything they need to flourish. It is by no accident that 94% of our homes are rated as Outstanding or Good.

We welcome staff who share our commitment to help children experience better days and better lives. Through ongoing development and training, we ensure our staff are well prepared for their jobs and given every opportunity to extend their skills.

Acorn Education and Care is part of the Outcomes First Group.

About the Role:

The Receptionist is the first point of call for visitors to the school. As the ‘face’ of the school the receptionist will be welcoming, personable, helpful and able to represent the school in a professional and friendly manner. In addition, it is essential that the person for this role is organised, able to multitask, work flexibly and have a ‘can do’ approach. You will also assist with general day to day admin tasks which therefore require a good level of IT skills.

Working hours are Monday - Wednesday 8.30am - 4.30pm, Thursday 8.30am - 4pm and Friday 8.30am - 2pm.

As part of the Acorn Care and Education Group. We can promise you plenty of challenges, and a rich variety of opportunities to develop your career.

Who we are looking for?

No two days are the same at Bramfield House so we want people who can work at pace to turn ‘can’t do’ into ‘want to’ and are motivated by working in a fast pace environment.  You will be motivated by your belief that every child can achieve and reach their potential.  The ideal candidate will enjoy working with parents and building relationships but will also be very organised and have a keen eye for detail, proficient in their use of IT and come with ideas and a desire to improve the school.

Whilst previous experience of working in a SEN environment would be desirable, excellent support skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.

If you are looking to join a dedicated team in a school that will welcome your ideas and aim to re-engage the young people we teach, we would like to hear from you.

Bramfield House School stands in magnificent grounds and gives pupils extraordinary educational opportunities through its innovative, successful teaching approach inside and outside the classroom.

The rural location, just off the main A12 in Suffolk, attracts interest for places across East Anglia to achieve happiness and success for even the most reluctant learners and vulnerable pupils.

The boys are taught in small, informal and relaxed classes, with clear structures in place. They forge strong working relationships with teachers and staff, who encourage their self-confidence and self esteem through stimulating and realistic targets. Previous failure is replaced with a positive pattern of success and quantifiable educational achievements.

As well as practical and creative lessons on site, including sports pitches and an RHS accredited horticulture department, Bramfield House offers the boys a huge variety of opportunities for education outside the classroom, including sailing qualifications on the Norfolk Broads, study along the East Anglian coastline, and numerous field trips.

Securing a weekly boarding place at Bramfield House will ensure that progress can be accelerated with a 24-hour, wraparound curriculum. The comfortable boarding facilities are located in the main house until the boys reach Years 10 and 11, when the emphasis develops towards semi-independent living, and preparation for life at college, an apprenticeship, university or work.

As well as academic, educational progress, Bramfield House School develops self- esteem, self confidence to ensure its pupils can go on to lead meaningful and successful adult lives.
