We empower our girls to believe in themselves and value the positive contribution they can make to the world. Join our rapidly evolving team, where we work together to promote and enable this ambitious and aspirational culture, and take on the challenge of ensuring we have the right systems in place to support our schools.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Recruitment Partner for the Trust Office at GDST, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing effective and streamlined processes to support our operations recruitment. You will build strong supplier partnerships and help the GDST to attract exceptional talent to support our mission of empowering young women through education.

Trust Office: You will provide essential operational process support for recruitment activities within the Trust Office, ensuring that our hiring processes are robust, competitive, and aligned with our organisational goals. Your responsibilities will also include delivering comprehensive training and guidance to hiring managers, empowering them to make informed decisions and select top talent.

Teams include Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, HR, Legal, IT, Estates, Facilities and Finance.

Schools & Trust Office: You will take the lead in managing our recruitment suppliers, fostering strong relationships, and driving maximum value from these partnerships. You will act as a trusted advisor to our schools, offering strategic guidance on operational recruitment strategies and best practices.

Staying at the forefront of industry trends and insights, you will keep hiring managers informed with regular sector updates, research findings, market data, and best practices, ensuring that our recruitment processes remain innovative and effective. Your dedication to excellence will enable GDST to continue delivering outstanding education to young women across our network of schools.

What Skills and Experience You’ll Bring To The Role

This is a brand-new role with plenty of scope to evolve. As long as you can demonstrate the following, we are able to consider highly experienced candidates who are ready to hit the ground running, and we are able to consider candidates who are eager to learn on the job and accelerate their career development:

  • Significant experience in end-to-end recruitment. An understanding of the education sector or a similar mission-driven environment would be helpful, but isn’t essential.
  • Proven track record of successfully identifying talent markets and attracting candidates for diverse roles, including operational and support functions.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment best practices, candidate assessment techniques, and employment legislation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
  • High level of adaptability, resilience, and problem-solving skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutions to recruitment challenges.
  • Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems and recruitment tools.
  • CIPD or equivalent qualifications in HR or recruitment are desirable but not essential.

Who We Are

The GDST is the leading network of independent girls’ schools in the UK, educating approximately 8% of all girls at UK independent schools. We are a not-for-profit organisation; all surpluses achieved from educating the 20,000 pupils in the 23 GDST schools and two academies throughout England and Wales are re-invested into girls’ education.

Since its foundation in 1872, to a £260 million organisation today, the GDST has never wavered in its belief in the uniqueness of its individual pupils, nor in our commitment to equipping them to succeed. For more information on the GDST and its schools, please visit www.gdst.net.

About Girls' Day School Trust

Our vision and values

We are pioneers in girls’ education and aim to reshape the future of learning itself. We empower girls to believe in themselves and value the positive contribution they can make to the world.

We have four values that we live by: We always put girls first. We are forward-thinking. We are fearless. And we are a family of schools.

Our environment and culture

While each GDST school has its own unique identity and character, they are all wonderful environments in which to learn and work, with both beautiful heritage buildings and state-of-the art facilities. As a family of schools, our collaborative ethos is deeply embedded, we aim to share our learnings and experience, supported and facilitated by the experts at Trust Office. We have a strong culture of improvement, of encouraging each other to be the very best we can be.

Our network

The GDST has strength in numbers. At an operational level, for example, our scale supports a centrally organised and serviced IT infrastructure. Our size also means individual schools can benefit from advice and guidance from the centre; Trust Office is host to experts who support the schools and set policy from the centre. This includes the Innovation and Learning team who work closely with each school, constantly improving and developing the first-class education that the GDST is known for.

Our structure

As a charity, the GDST owns and operates 23 independent schools. We also sponsor two academies. The Council of the Trust is legally responsible for the GDST’s activities. The Chief Executive and Senior Management Team work together to support Council and manage the day-to-day activities of the Trust. Each school head is accountable to Council via the Chief Executive. Each GDST school also has a School Governing Board.

Please note that you are wholly responsible for fact checking in respect of the information provided by schools. Please also check for the latest visa and work permit requirements that may apply. Tes is not responsible for the content of advertisements or the policies adopted by advertising schools. Tes asks that all schools follow Tes' Fair Recruitment Policy.
