Reflection Room Supervisor

35 hours per week on a 40 week contract (term time only plus one additional week during the school holidays)

This role is temporary in the first instance.

Point 12 of the NJC pay scale for outer London, £22,147 (full-time rate: £25,137)

Required as soon as possible

Our school is seeking to appoint a keen and enthusiastic worker to supervise the isolation room between the hours of 8am to 4pm. This key appointment will be temporary for one year in the first instance with the expectation that it will become a permanent role.

If you are the successful candidate, you will have strong behaviour management skills and interpersonal skills, and you will be a good team player. You will coordinate the work that students complete on MS Teams and work with them both one to one and in small groups, mentoring key students to support and improve their behaviour. Working as a member of the pastoral team, you will be required to give regular feedback, including weekly data, on the work in the Reflection Room.

You will have experience of working in a secondary school and will be proficient in the use of MS Teams, word, powerpoint and excel. A teaching or relevant SEN / inclusion qualification would be an advantage.

You will be joining an established team, dedicated to meeting the needs of certain students who might otherwise fail to engage with education. As a result of tailored and collaborative interventions, we know these students can thrive. You would play an important part in raising their levels of achievement, helping them to become intrinsically motivated to succeed and adopt a positive stance towards their education.

GCA has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and has safer recruitment procedures in place for the selection of staff. It is committed to the principle of equal opportunities – we welcome all applicants and value the diversity they bring.

Please download the job description, person specification and application form below and email your completed application to voxley@greigcityacademy.co.uk.

The closing date for receiving completed application forms is 3 pm on Wednesday 8th December, with interviews taking place the following week.

Please note that we reserve the right to close or extend the deadline for this position depending on application numbers, therefore we would urge candidates to submit an application in advance of the closing date, at their earliest opportunity.
