Outwood Grange Academies Trust seeks applications from suitably experienced individuals with the imagination, energy and confidence to become an integral part of our Wakefield and Barnsley academies’ attendance teams.

The successful applicant will initially be based at Outwood Academy Hemsworth but will be employed to work across the central region of Outwood Grange Academies Trust, and can be deployed to work at any academy within that region.

The academies within the Central region are: Outwood Grange Academy, Outwood Academy City Fields, Outwood Academy Freeston, Outwood Academy Hemsworth, Outwood Academy Carlton and Outwood Academy Shafton.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Trust. Our single goal is ‘students first – raising standards and transforming lives’ and you will be part of a strong team working to this sole aim. You will be joining a highly innovative, inspirational and ambitious organisation and you must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students.

To be successful in this rewarding role, you will need to be extremely well organised, have the ability to prioritise work and ensure that strict deadlines are met. The ability to work on your own initiative and work within existing teams is essential. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and able to remain calm in a busy environment whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times.

The purpose of this post is providing operational and administrative support to promote whole school attendance strategies to fulfil our responsibility in the improvement of attendance across all our academies. Owing to the nature of the role, an ability to relate to the academy’s students and their parents/carers in a positive and proactive way is crucial.

Strong IT skills and practical experience of using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, are essential for this role. Experience within a school attendance role is advantageous.

In line with the Government’s announcement, our academies are closed until further notice. However, we are still busily planning ahead for the forthcoming academic year and are excited about welcoming new recruits to come and join us. In place of academy based interviews, we have set up systems to ensure that alternative options are still available via skype/video conferencing wherever possible. Every effort will be made to try and accommodate any specific requirements so that no-one is at a disadvantage.

Understandably, visits to the school are not possible at present, however we are really keen to ensure that you have as much information to proceed with your application as possible, so if you would like a conversation about either the academies or the position please email Sabiha Laher, s.laher@outwood.com  and she will be happy to assist.

When completing your application, please give due regard to the attached Job Description and Person specification. Please note that all of the essential criteria listed on the Person Specification will be used to shortlist candidates for interview. If you do not demonstrate and/or evidence that you meet all of the essential criteria elements, you will not be selected for interview.

Closing date: Midday on 15 June 2020.

Interview date: 22 June 2020.
