Job overview

We are searching for an exceptional teacher and leader to join our team. The Institute for Research in Schools is a UK charity that facilitates students in schools to participate in cutting edge, university level research while still in school. We impact on both students and teachers, engaging more young people in the excitement of STEM and opening up the world of STEM careers.

Due to the growth of our charity, we are seeking a Maths, Science or Computer Science teacher to visit schools in Central England and provide support as necessary for teachers and students working on IRIS Projects. As part of this work you would also be the lead for one or more IRIS projects, liaising with our University or industry partners.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding teacher and communicator, a diligent and hard-working individual and will have skills in networking and strategic thinking. We also need someone who is flexible and a reliable team-player.

The role is home-based with travel through Central England and occasional meetings in London, Edinburgh and Exeter. The working week is 37.5 hours and working hours are flexible, but will include visits to schools during the school day and in term-time.

Applicants will need to hold a valid driving licence, shortlisted applicants will also need to provide evidence of identity and eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.

Applications should consist of a CV and a covering letter of no more than two sides of A4 explaining why you consider yourself a suitable candidate for the role.

Please email to submissions@researchinschools.org by noon on 8th October.

Interview date 17th October
