About our school

Situated in beautiful, spacious grounds on the edge of the Kentish village of Hawkhurst, Marlborough House is a thriving Prep school for boys and girls aged 3 to 13 years, with just over 330 pupils. We pride ourselves on the achievement of excellent results within a happy atmosphere where the focus is on each individual child.

We believe our staff are our greatest resource.  That is why we are committed to recruiting the very best teachers to benefit pupil experience in the classroom.  We nurture a culture of personal and professional development, and our values of 'Valuing Self and Others' are at the heart of everything we do.

The role

We are seeking someone with excellent people skills, who is a first-class administrator with a keen eye for detail, for this key role within the School’s busy administration team.

We believe that the member of staff with responsibility for admissions has a critical job to do in promoting the school positively to prospective parents through approachable and efficient management of the admissions process.

As the first point of contact for prospective parents and an important representative of the school, the successful candidate must have very strong communication and interpersonal skills.  It is vital that he / she has a friendly and welcoming manner and the ability to put people at their ease. He /she is likely to be an experienced and confident administrator with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and database management who is capable of working in a busy office environment. Flexibility and the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines are essential.

Whilst some experience of working in an educational environment may be an advantage, it is more important that the successful candidate can demonstrate the required attributes and experience.

Starting as soon as possible, this role will be a full time position, and year round.

Please refer to the full person specification and job description.
