Primary Objective:
The Registration Assistant is responsible for providing high level administrative support in all processes for registering teachers in the Northern Territory in line with legislative frameworks of the Teacher Registration Act of the Northern Territory. This position requires a person with excellent time management skills who is able to work under pressure as part of a small multi-skilled team servicing stakeholders.

OUR SCHOOLS

Teachers in the NT teach some 33 000 children in 153 government schools spread across 1.35 million square kilometres. Schools are grouped into six regions:

  • Darwin: 28 schools
  • Top End: 35 schools
  • Big Rivers: 28 schools
  • East Arnhem: 13 schools
  • Barkly: 13 schools
  • Central: 36 schools


Of the 153 government schools, 73% are located in remote and very remote areas, with 46% of the NT’s total student population attending those remote schools.

Some 44% of all our students in the NT speak a language other than English at home.
