St Philip Howard Catholic Voluntary Academy, part of the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust are seeking to appoint a highly skilled and motivated Teacher of Religious Education who could also take on the responsibility of Head of Year 8. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to further develop their skills and experience.

The successful candidate will join an already popular and successful RE Department and will be expected to deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated Religious Studies curriculum for students and to support the Religious Studies curriculum area as appropriate.

We are also looking to recruit a passionate individual who will work with Year 8 students, their parents and other members of staff to monitor and resolve any issues surrounding attendance, behaviour and attainment levels. Applications are welcomed from those with experience of working effectively with students, their parents and their teachers to build a robust partnership in which the students can flourish and succeed at school.

• have the ability to secure high quality student outcomes

• are dedicated to providing the best possible outcomes for all the pupils

• have a sound knowledge and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

St Philip Howard Catholic Voluntary Academy is a mixed, comprehensive, Roman Catholic secondary school situated in the thriving town of Glossop, Derbyshire with excellent commuter links to Manchester, Stockport and surrounding areas.

A smaller than average secondary school, St Philip Howard currently has 520 pupils on roll and is growing rapidly. St Philip Howard is on a journey to outstanding and since the Academy opened in September 2015 has gone from strength to strength.
