Essential Criteria include:

  • An understanding of and commitment to the ideals of Catholic Education
  • Demonstrated expertise as a classroom practitioner
  • Appropriate qualifications and experience
  • An appropriate mix of pedagogical, content and technological knowledge
  • An informed understanding of the impact of teaching strategies on student learning
  • A sound knowledge of working with students in differentiating learning to meet the needs of individual students
  • A thorough knowledge of subject content
  • An informed understanding of inclusive, learner-centred pedagogy
  • An informed understanding of the role of formative and summative assessment in providing feedback that advances student learning
  • An ability to work as part of a team and contribute positively to staff professional culture
  • Knowledge of relevant NESA curriculum documentation, practices and procedures.
  • Awareness of Professional Code of Practice

Catholic Education, Diocese of Wagga Wagga serves twenty-six primary schools and five secondary colleges (2 of which offer boarding facilities). Our staff support principals and school staff in their work around maximising student learning, growth and development.


Primary schools in the diocese are separated into two regions each supported by a School Services Consultant – Primary. The Northern Region encompasses the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area and the Wagga Wagga area. The Southern Region encompasses the Albury and South-West areas and also includes Sacred Heart Kooringal and Henschke Primary in Wagga Wagga. Secondary schools in the diocese are supported by a School Services Consultant – Secondary.
