Teachers at St Aldhelm’s Academy are expected to be excellent classroom practitioners with strong subject knowledge and a high level of emotional intelligence. He/she will have strong communication skills and the ability to build good relationships with pupils, parents and staff whilst also being able to:

  • Demonstrate professionalism consistent with the Trust’s values: aspirational, collaborative, inclusive, innovative and responsible
  • Contribute to extra-curricular provision offered by the department.
  • Develop the use of technology to enhance the learning opportunities for pupils.

 

Our mantra, ‘High Expectations lead to High Achievers’ applies to everyone who is involved in the academy, whatever their role and we place a strong emphasis on staff well-being.

This role will provide excellent preparation for Curriculum or Pastoral leadership within the next few years.

St Aldhelm's Academy is a 900 PAN-pupil school which currently has 845 students. St Aldhelm’s joined Ambitions Academy Trust in 2015 and educates boys and girls aged between 11 and 16.

We pride ourselves on clear and regular communication with parents about their child’s personal and academic development.  We believe that the relationship between parents and carers, staff and students is crucial to the success of any school.  We know that a successful and happy school depends on all of us working together.  We would like all students that leave St Aldhelm’s Academy to be resilient, confident, kind and caring young people who will be successful as they navigate life and contribute positively to the community in which they live.

We want all students to be active members of the school community and supportive of SAA, whether that be representing their TG, House, Student Voice, Student Leadership (student voice in terms of their learning and all aspects of academy life, student leadership, tours, recruitment), belonging to a team/club etc.
