Job overview

The Institute for Effective Education (IEE) is looking for a confident, dynamic individual to work as a Research Schools Facilitator to manage a network of Research Schools throughout England.

In collaboration with the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF), the IEE is creating The Research Schools Network: Sector-Led Support for Evidence-Based Practice. With funding and support from the IEE and the EEF, Research Schools will:

  • Disseminate evidence-based interventions and practices, and support their implementation.
  • Model and develop evidence-based practice.
  • Bridge the gap between research and practice by developing innovative interventions, based on the existing research.

With your considerable experience in the field of education, you will work closely with the primary and secondary schools in the network to support the use of research evidence to inform teaching and learning. Up to six Research Schools will be starting work in September 2016, with further schools joining the following year. Each of the Research Schools will be expected to build relationships with schools in their region, developing a local network. In time, this will develop into a national Research Schools Network.

Your role will be to work closely with colleagues at the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) to run the Research Schools Network including: managing and supporting the Research Schools project in the participating schools, encouraging them to disseminate and use research evidence, model evidence-based practice, and facilitate the development of pilot projects.

About the IEE
