Job overview

Woodcote House School is one of the country’s leading independent day & boarding schools for boys aged 7 to 13.  We are looking to recruit a Resident Graduate Assistant (RGAs) to join us for one academic year starting September 2022.  The successful candidate will be a willing, able and highly adaptable individual who is interested in a teaching career and would relish the experience this post will offer in a highly successful prep school environment.

Under the direction and instruction of the Deputy Heads and the Head of Boarding, the Resident Graduate Assistant (RGA) role provides essential support to pupils and staff, particularly with respect to the sporting and academic development of pupils, and boarding.

RGA duties will range from supporting pupils’ learning in the classroom to playing an active part in coaching the School’s main sports (rugby, football and cricket) and offering extra-curricular activities.  RGAs will undertake boarding duties on agreed mornings and evenings as well as daytime cover duties and morning break and lunch cover.

Opportunities also exist for those wishing to gain wider experience in developing their own talents and interests, for example in music, drama, art and DT.

We expect RGAs will find the experience of working in a busy school environment invaluable in whatever career they later choose to pursue. At the end of the year, RGAs will have gained confidence, acquired valuable leadership and communication skills, and developed talents in perhaps, as yet, unknown disciplines!

Required September 2022 for one academic year.

Salary £15,000 plus accommodation and meals

Hours: Term time only
