Resident Graduate – Pastoral Welfare Fryer House

Leighton Park School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and adaptable Health/Social Care Graduate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work in our Boarding House for the youngest students in school alongside the House Team.  As a Resident Graduate – Pastoral Welfare Fryer House, you will support the daily work of the pastoral team in Fryer House.  This includes pastoral and boarding duties, contributing to the extra-curricular life of the school and liaising with students, staff and parents to provide support for the House Team.  The ideal candidate will contribute to the enhancement of House cohesion and be part of a team of adults providing support, pastoral welfare and mentoring to students in the house.


This one-year residential post provides valuable support to Fryer House and our Pastoral and Welfare Team as well as an exciting and ideal opportunity for graduates who are considering a career in education to experience a year in the life of our vibrant and successful school.   On a daily basis, you will also be supporting the Head of House and members of the House Team to ensure the pastoral welfare of all boarders and day students.


We aim to offer our Resident Graduates a memorable year working with energetic and inspiring students within a co-educational environment. The School will provide accommodation throughout the year and free board courtesy of our onsite restaurant, Oakview during term time. You will also have access to a gym and swimming pool on site, and in this paid role you will also have opportunities for continuing your professional development.  

This experience provides a platform for various career progressions paths at the end of your residency you will have achieved positive results both personally and professionally and you will have developed skills and experience of considerable value – particularly if you decide to continue your career in teaching.


Salary: £10,000 per annum, with free accommodation throughout the year and free board during term time.
