From September 2025 to July 2026

Includes year-round residential accommodation at our lovely Reading town centre campus, bills and all term time meals.

We have an exciting opportunity for a new graduate available at Leighton Park School from September 2025. Our Drama and Dance department is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, versatile and dedicated graduate to work within a team where creativity, technology, innovation and teamwork are core values. You will be a recent graduate who may aspire to a career in teaching or in the Performing Arts. As part of the role, time will be available to develop your own creative projects and portfolio.

This one-year residential post provides valuable support to our Drama and Dance department, classroom learning and boarding houses, as well as an exciting and ideal opportunity for graduates who are considering a career in education to experience a year in the life of our vibrant and successful school. On a daily basis, you will also be supporting the members of the House Team to ensure the pastoral welfare of all boarders and day students.

We aim to offer our Resident Graduates a memorable year working with energetic and inspiring students within a co-educational environment. The School will provide accommodation whilst in this role, and free board courtesy of our onsite restaurant Oakview during term time. You will also have access to a gym and swimming pool on site, and in this paid role you will also have opportunities for continuing your professional development, training and coaching qualifications.

This experience provides a platform for various career progression paths. At the end of your residency, you will have achieved positive results both personally and professionally, and you will have developed skills and experience of considerable value – particularly if you decide to continue your career in teaching.

Leighton Park School is a successful, forward looking independent (HMC) day and boarding school for girls and boys aged 11-18 set in 65 acres of magnificent parkland.

Leighton Park exists to form young people of real character and confidence, with a determined desire to change the world, reflecting the school’s Quaker values. In 2023 we won Senior School of the Year in the national Independent Schools Association Awards. We were also a finalist in the Independent Senior School of the Year in the TES Schools Awards 2023.

We are a school that inspires Achievement with Values, Character and Community and academic excellence is the consequence of our approach. Valuing breadth and depth, we are distinguished by excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM), Music and Ethical Enterprise. The UK Government’s latest 16-18 league tables reveal Leighton Park to be the best performing School in Berkshire and in the top 1% of English schools. We are one of only eight schools to have always appeared in the top 100.

We challenge our students to imagine a better world. We then support them to develop the character, confidence and determination to be changemakers.
