About Sedbergh School

The magnificent location of Sedbergh means pupils can enjoy school life in a safe, healthy and dynamic environment. The opportunities for outdoor activities are almost unlimited - from a walk in the hills to mountain biking, or the calm of fishing to the challenge of caving. While academic study is central for every pupil the experiences of a Sedberghian are not confined to the classroom .

Sedbergh is a School where pupils are presented  with a huge range of opportunity. It is a School which expects its pupils to seize the opportunity or, better, create the opportunity. It is our firm belief that it is much better to try something and fail rather than avoiding something because of the fear of failing. This culture ultimately breeds a positive attitude and greatly increases the likelihood of success.
