We are looking to appoint a Resident Matron for a boys’ Boarding House (56 boys aged 13-18) for the start of the Lent term in January 2022. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the welfare and well-being of students and the smooth running of the domestic arrangements in the House along with the Non-Resident Matron; this includes liaising with a Cleaning Supervisor, House Handyman, catering team and taking a lead with organising House functions.
Applicants will need to be able to build excellent relationships with young people, be supportive and caring. The post also calls for good organisational skills, IT literacy, the ability to remain calm under pressure and a flexible approach to duties. A first aid qualification and a full driving license are essential.
The School is an independent full boarding school of approximately 870 pupils and 110 full-time members of the teaching staff. Entry for most boys and girls is at 13, chiefly from preparatory schools via the Common Entrance or Scholarship Examination.
