St David's College is looking for residential assistants to live and work in the boys’ boarding houses at St David’s College, Llandudno, North Wales.
The successful candidate’s main responsibilities will be to supervise and care for pupils during the evenings and weekends as part of a duty team within the boarding community. During the day there will be opportunities to work with the Outdoor Education and PE departments and also an expectation to help from time to time with academic lessons.
Accommodation and food (term time only) are provided free of charge and the salary is commensurate to the post, which would typically suit an individual who is seeking some experience prior to entering the teaching or Outdoor Education professions.
The post is for one academic year in the first instance but could be extended further depending on the willingness and capabilities of the candidate.
Due to the nature of these positions, they are exempt from the Equalities Act 2010 with male members of staff being required for the boy’s boarding area and a female required for the girls.
St David’s College is an independent boarding and day school near to Llandudno. St David’s College was founded on Christian principles and continues to promote them today. Many teachers live on site and the supportive residential community makes St David’s College a very special place to live, learn and work.
We have an excellent reputation for supporting pupils with dyslexia and other learning needs. As a result approximately 50% of our student cohort receives additional support for their learning needs. Our class sizes are small, averaging less than 10 pupils per class and advanced SEN training is provided to all teachers. That said, we have high expectations of all of our students, the majority of whom remain at the school for 6th Form and successfully gain entrance to universities.
