Haberdashers’ Adams is a selective state grammar school with academy status situated in the small market town of Newport in rural Shropshire. It is a newly co-educational school from September 2024, taking approximately 30 girls into year 7. There are five forms of entry and currently about 1050 pupils on roll; approximately 100 of these are boarders. The Sixth Form has about 370 students of whom about 120 are girls.

We are looking to appoint a Residential Boarding Matron/Houseparent, for our Junior Boarding House, Longford Hall. This role is vital to the successful running of the boarding house and is paramount to the students residing here.
Your residence will be within the grounds of Longford Hall, a Grade II* listed Georgian mansion and accompanying Coach House, with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside.
It provides accommodation for up to 50 boys and various members of staff. The grounds play host to P.E. and Games lessons for pupils during the day and numerous sports team training sessions and fixtures after school and at the weekend. About Haberdashers' Adams
Haberdashers' Adams (formerly Adams' Grammar School) is a co-ed selective state grammar school in the market town of Newport, Shropshire. Founded in 1656, the School welcomes boys and girls aged 11-18 as day pupils, with boarding for boys.
Entrance to the School is highly competitive. The most common points of entry are via an 11+ examination for Year 7, or following GCSE exam results. Former pupils of the school are known as Old Novaportans.
