Term Time Plus 5 weeks

St Joseph's College is a vibrant independent day and boarding school in Ipswich providing a broad and seamless education for over 550 boys and girls aged 2 - 18. We provide a wide range of stimulating and challenging opportunities that our pupils embrace in both the academic and extra-curricular life of the College.

The resultant all-round education develops our pupils into well-rounded individuals who challenge themselves to ‘be our best’ in every aspect of life at the school, and beyond. Our innovative teaching and subsequent success starts in the Prep School and runs all the way through the Senior School and Sixth Form.

The successful applicant will support the Housemaster or Housemistress with the smooth running of the boarding house and keep them fully informed on all significant matters. You will ensure the pupils’ safety and promote all aspects of their pastoral, social, spiritual and behavioural wellbeing and always have the best interests of the pupils at heart. You will act as a link between parents, pupils and teaching staff (to include the College Nurse etc) and be the parents’ initial point of contact when on duty.

You will work in Boarding two evenings per week and every other weekend during term time, with an additional five shifts in Pre-sessional week, October half term, February half term, Easter and May Half term. This is a residential role and as such the Residential Tutor is expected to be residential during term time.

For the right candidate, an additional role and working hours, such as Cover Tutor during the daytime may be available, or an alternative role that meets the needs of the College and the candidate's skill set.

Closing date:  Monday 6 December with the interview on Friday 10 December. The College reserves the right to interview prior to the closing deadline, so early applications are encouraged.
