Eastbourne College is seeking a residential matron to assist with the health and well-being of boarding pupils as part of the pastoral team. The role also involves the organisation of domestic staff and liaison with College staff, pupils, parents and guardians.
Responsible to: Deputy Head (Pastoral) and Housemaster/Housemistress (hsm) regarding daily matters
Terms and Conditions:
This is a temporary post with effect from 19 August 2019, with the possibility of an earlier start from as soon as Easter 2019.
Hours of Work: 6 days per week (day off being on a weekday). The hours will be as necessary to fulfill the requirements of the job but unlikely to be less than 40 hours a week.
Working Week: Term time plus one week after the end of term and one week before term starts.
Accommodation: One-bedroom flat, lounge, kitchen and bathroom. Available all year round. Single person’s Council tax and all utilities are paid for by the College (except private telephone calls and personal contents insurance).
Holiday: You shall be entitled to the statutory minimum holiday entitlement under the Working Time Regulations 1998 which is to be taken during the College holidays. In addition, you will not normally be required to work during normal College holidays except for one week after the end of term and one week before term starts.
Applicants must be non-smokers and preferably have a car and clean driving licence. First aid experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
