Job overview

 An exciting opportunity to take a unique restaurant to the next stage of its journey to excellence. We are looking for a confident and commercially aware Restaurant Manager to develop and manage our busy commercial restaurant in our award-winning Roundhouse campus.  


As Restaurant Manager you will be responsible for the day to day running of the restaurant, managing front of house activities, apprentices and the wider team in pursuit of an outstanding customer experience. 


You will work closely with the Head Chef and Roundhouse Events to develop responsive, innovative and engaging themed events. The successful applicant will have recent experience and occupational competence in restaurant management and extensive food and wine knowledge. The ability to work accurately with figures and manage a budget are also essential for this role.  


You will also need to be flexible as working hours will include evenings, weekends and public holidays. This is an exciting venture to take the restaurant to the next level, working closely with our Head Chef and team. Previous applicants need not apply!

Derby College is a large general further education college with four sites in or near the city of Derby. It supports around 26,000 learners, who choose from more than 1,000 full-time and part-time apprenticeship, A-level, BTEC and NVQ courses.   

Derby College was established as a single institution in 2002 by merging three further education colleges: Mackworth Tertiary College, Wilmorton Tertiary College and Broomfield Agricultural College. A merger between South East Derbyshire College and Derby College was approved in 2010. Heavy investment has been made by the college in its teaching and learning facilities, from the fully equipped teaching kitchens at the Roundhouse campus to the high-tech science labs at the Joseph Wright Centre and the Equestrian Centre at the Broomfield Hall campus.
