Looking to take your first step in education? We are looking for a dedicated and detail-orientated individual to join Chobham Academy as Safeguarding Administrator. 

We are looking for an experienced administrator to take on the organization of the safeguarding teams. You will be committed to the highest achievement for all. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed professional looking to start or continue their career in a rewarding new role.

This role is offered as a fixed-term contract from January to August 2022, working three days per week (22.5 hours).

Main Areas of Responsibility

  • To support the safeguarding team with administration tasks required to safeguard the children and young people at Chobham Academy
  • To provide general administrative support for the Designated Safeguarding Lead and the wider safeguarding team including phone calls, emails and other communication
  • To work alongside Heads of Years, Attendance, SEND to provide effective monitoring and support for vulnerable students
  • To contribute to raising awareness of safeguarding, developing procedures for reporting cases, establishing a safe environment for students by maintaining and improving safeguarding standards
  • To maintain student safeguarding files and uphold confidentiality at all times
  • To arrange and set up meetings with parents and external agencies where appropriate
  • To write and produce minutes of meetings
  • To produce word processed reports, and input data onto spreadsheets
  • To organise the calendar for the Safeguarding team throughout the academic year effectively and efficiently
  • Keeping written records of concerns about children, even where there is no need to refer the matter immediately
  • Keeping all records securely, separate from the main pupil file, and in locked locations
  • To monitor staff use of CPOMS and support the Safeguarding Lead in ensuring that all records are detailed and accurate
  • To maintain a record of up to date contact details of professionals working with vulnerable students (e.g. social workers, social work managers, CAMHS practitioners, Families First workers etc.
  • To maintain records of meetings and dates of expected meetings
  • To ensure records are collected from feeder schools and sent on to receiving schools when pupils are off rolled in a timely manner
  • To assist the Safeguarding team with the administration of safeguarding training
  • To maintain records of registration during safeguarding training
  • To assist with the preparation and distribution of regular Safeguarding updates
  • To undertake administrative tasks relating to the monitoring of the implementation of safeguarding policy and procedures
  • The preparation of reports and maintaining records relating to student referrals and subsequent counselling or support from academy staff or other agencies

Qualifications & Experience

  • GCSE mathematics and English at grade C or above and relevant Level 3 Qualification
  • Trained in the use of a variety of ICT packages
  • Knowledge of procedure for entering date on a central management information system
  • Basic training on CMIS systems including training
  • At least a year working in school or educational establishment
